Aria is the sleeker, calmer property, but its confirmed happy hour footprint is thin. If you are choosing purely on where the deals are, that difference is the whole story.

If happy hour is your deciding factor, the Cosmopolitan is the safer bet, mostly because it gives you options. You can chase steakhouse bites, Spanish tapas, or a $10-across social hour without leaving the building.

Aria is the pick when the drink is a warm-up for a big dinner, or when you specifically want its one genuine find: cheap oysters at the food hall bar. Below is what actually holds up at each.

What is worth your time at the Cosmopolitan

STK, if you plan to eat

STK's bar and lounge happy hour is the one to build around, and it is one of the few here backed by the venue's own published menu. It runs Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 6:30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 to 5:30pm, with a late-night version Thursday through Sunday from 10pm to close. It only applies at the bar, lounge, and patio, not at your dinner table.

Drinks land at $12 for specialty cocktails, $10 for wines by the glass (Decoy Cabernet, Whispering Angel Rosé, Elouan Pinot Noir), and $5 for beers like Stella Artois and Michelob Ultra. The food is where it gets interesting: $7 bites including the Lil' Brg, a salmon slider, and beet and burrata, then $14 plates like miso-glazed Chilean seabass and beef tartare, and a $29 four-ounce filet with asparagus if you want to make a small meal of it.

Jaleo and China Poblano, the José Andrés pair

Both of these run daily happy hours and both are genuinely good.

Jaleo calls its version Sangría Hour: Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 7pm and Friday and Saturday from 4:30 to 7pm, at the bar and lounge only. Expect $7 beer, sangria from $7 to $9, $9 wine, $12 cocktails, and tapas running $4 to $9. There is also a reverse Sangría Hour on Monday nights from 9 to 11pm if you are running late.

China Poblano, the Chinese-Mexican mashup, does a daily Social Hour from 4 to 6pm. The signature Salt Air margarita and the classic version are both $13, beers are $7, and the food is the draw: $8.50 quesabirria, a $5 frijoles taco, $4 chips and salsa, and $12.88 chicken siu mai. It is the most fun per dollar of anything in this building.

Beauty & Essex, the flat-rate deal

If you like knowing the price before you order, Beauty & Essex keeps it simple. Its social hour runs Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 7pm, and nearly everything is $10: specialty cocktails, wines by the glass, and small plates like grilled cheese with tomato soup dumplings, cauliflower tacos, and a jumbo shrimp cocktail. Look for the pawnshop entrance, which is the whole gimmick.

Momofuku and the Chandelier Bar

Momofuku runs a daily happy hour from 3 to 5pm with $8 beer, $10 cocktails, $12 wine and sake, and bites from $7 to $15. It is a quieter, earlier option if you want to beat the after-work rush.

The Chandelier Bar, the three-story crystal centerpiece in the middle of the casino, is the property's most photographed spot and does post afternoon happy hours on weekdays. The catch: its specials are reported inconsistently from one source to the next, so confirm the current deal at the bar before you count on a specific price. Come for the setting and treat any discount as a bonus.

Aria's quieter scene

Aria is a beautiful, polished property, but its verified happy hour list is short, and it is worth being honest about that rather than inventing bars that are not there.

Proper Bar, the real find

The standout is the bar inside the Proper Eats food hall. Its posted deal is $2 shucked oysters, priced per oyster, Monday through Friday from 4 to 6pm. It is casual and low-key, the cheapest way into raw oysters anywhere near this stretch of the Strip, and a smart pre-dinner stop if you are eating elsewhere on property.

Everything else is dinner, not deals

Aria's strength is its restaurant roster, not discounted afternoon drinks. Some rooms, like the Catch dining room, may run limited happy hours, but those are not confirmed on a reliable schedule, so call ahead rather than showing up expecting a posted deal. If you want a documented happy hour at Aria, Proper Bar is the one to plan around.

How to actually choose

  • You want the most options in one building: Cosmopolitan, easily. Five-plus confirmed happy hours beats one.
  • You are eating a real meal: STK's bar bites at the Cosmopolitan, or use Aria as the dinner destination and warm up at Proper Bar first.
  • You want cheap oysters: Aria's Proper Bar, weekdays 4 to 6pm.
  • You want a flat, no-surprises tab: Beauty & Essex at the Cosmopolitan, where nearly everything is $10.
