Lucille's holds down a corner of The District at Green Valley Ranch, the outdoor shopping street across from the Green Valley Ranch resort, and it commits fully to the Southern smokehouse bit. Dark wood, blues memorabilia, warm biscuits with apple butter landing on the table before you order a thing. The dining room fills up with Henderson families by six, but the bar is its own scene, taps and TVs up front and a crowd that leans local, people from the surrounding offices settling in after work.

The weekday deal window is long, 3 to 7, Monday through Friday, and a second round starts at 9 every night and goes until close, weekends included. Draft pints and glasses of wine drop by two dollars, bottles of wine go half off, and the bar cocktail list sits between $5.50 and $9.75, with house drinks like the Scarlett and the Kentucky Cooler in the mix. Food is tiered from $5 to $15: fried dill pickles, okra, and onion straws at the bottom, deviled eggs and spinach dip in the middle, then a pulled pork sandwich at $11, pork belly burnt ends or BBQ nachos at $13, and a tri tip sandwich topping out at $15.

On weekends, when the afternoon session is dark, the move is the 9 p.m. restart, which keeps the deal menu going until the doors lock. Bar seats are first come and The District gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so slide in a little before nine for a stool. There is a second Nevada location at Downtown Summerlin if you are on the west side.
